Sandy St. Clair

Painting since the end of 1989, this self-taught artist puts brush to canvas with the thought of saving that one special moment forever.  The soft beauty of nature’s daily story, the quiet dignity of a still life portrait is what inspires S. St. Clair.

S. St. Clair expresses herself using pastel, oil painting, photography and in watercolor, graphite and clay.  She prefers to work in pastel for portraits, oil for landscapes and photography for architecture and focuses on the contrast of color, shadow and subject.  A receiver of many awards and international juried shows – including best of show for portraiture.

Past and present memberships include the Miniature Society of Florida, Cider Painters of America, Georgia Miniature Art Society, Maine Women in the Arts, Pastel Painters of Maine, Exeter Town Hall Art Association, Sanford Art Association and numerous others.
