Art has been my lifelong passion and I was an art major at Albion College in Michigan. For over 20 years I studied oil painting and watercolors extensively with artist Diane Amos of Greene, Maine. Also, I’ve taken an oil painting workshop with Davis Curtis of Gloucester, MA, and pastel workshops with Claudette Gamache of Bath, ME. I specialize in landscapes with a special interest in trees, which are my favorite subjects. Having grown up in Detroit, Michigan, I have a special appreciation of Maine’s natural beauty. I think my paintings reflect the spirit of a by-gone era. In this too modern world, I try to capture a sense of peace and tranquility that the countryside of Maine inspires in me. I’m active in various art groups and have been a member of the Sanford Art Association since 1998, where I served as secretary and co-president. I’m also a member of the Maine Women in the Arts and have served as their Exhibition Chairperson since 2000. Also, I’m a member of the Pastel Painters of Maine, York Art Association and Saco Bay Artists. |
