Line Painting

The line painting consists of 12, 12"x12" canvas squares, each painted as an individual painting. Mia Auger started with the top left hand canvas and drew a line or lines through each canvas. These lines had to be incorporated as part of the painting. Raffle tickets can be bought at the Sanford Springvale Art Gallery on Main Street for $1 dollar each or 6 for $5. 12 raffle tickets will be drawn during the Sanford Harvest Days celebration in early October, with the 12 individual paintings going to twelve lucky winners.

MARKETING YOUR MASTERPIECE INTERNET MARKETING FOR THE ARTIST

Maine Artist Mary Bullock Will be Giving A Seminar About How To Use The Internet to Market Your Art

Some of the topics she will be covering are building a website, Blogging, E-newsletters, selling on eBay, Etsy, CafePress and other online selling venues, how to use Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Youtube, etc. to your advantage. The seminar will include a live video conference call to a successful artist that markets on the Internet. The location for the lectures will be at the Nasson Community Center in Springvale,Maine on Saturday, September 18 from 9a.m. to 3 p.m. with a break for lunch (not provided). The price for the lecture will be $60 if you pre-register or $75 at the door - cash,checks or Paypal accepted.

Featured Artist of the Month at the Gallery

Have you always wanted to be a "Featured Artist"? Now is your chance! If you are interested: submit your name to Audrey Arguin at 324-8148 or email her at mcguin@metrocast.net. You will have one wall/area to place your work for a month with the caption of "Featured Artist" utilizing up to 10 of your pieces. You must attend the SSAA meeting, the first Wednesday of the month at 6pm at the Gallery to be in attendance in order to win this auspicious prize.

Goodall Hospital Art Show

An opening reception celebrated the new art work hung in August. The reception included meeting the artists, delicious food and wonderful music. If you missed the reception this year, be sure to stop by the hospital and walk the halls to see this wonderful art show display. This show will be hung until May 2010. The next show will be hung June 2010 and will be up for one year. For further information about showing your work in this wonderful venue, please contact Sue Mesick 459-5064.
