I have drawn and painted since a small child. I studied art at Phillips Exeter Academy from Glenn Krauss, but was unsuccessful as an artist at age 17. I worked as a pot-washer at a hotel near Pittsburgh, PA and then as a desk clerk in Las Croabas, Puerto Rico before entereing the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration and graduated in 1967. After that I worked in the hospitality business for another 25 years, painting as a sideline. My restaurants and nightclubs were considered walk-in installations, the most recent being The Rongovian Embassy to the USA in Trumansburg, NY (still in business from 1973). I have showed and sold my artwork in Ithaca, NY, St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands, Harrisburg, PA and Santa Fe, NM. In Santa Fe I also worked as restaurant reviewer for The Santa Fe New Mexican (daily paper) and drew political cartoons. In 1999, I purchaced Leroy Robinson's camp on Bunganut Pond (Lyman, ME) and made it a year-round home. My wife and I still travel extensively, working on business consulting and economic development for American Indian Tribes and 3rd-World countries. I publish photos and paint with most available mediums but usually in representational small watercolors and large oils/acrylics.
