| ARTISTS IN MAINE COMMUNITIES - Remembering Our Community Sanford - Springvale |
| Artists will have an opportunity to compete for purchase prizes as well as exhibit their work. Artists will capture the Sanford area as it is today or in the past (with assistance from the Sanford Historical Society.) Kick off for this event will be the first weekend in August. Artists will be invited from all over the state and will have a month to complete their work. Submission of work will be the 31st of August and be on display at the Gallery for the month of September. The works will be judged for purchase prizes and the winning pieces will be donated to the Town of Sanford for display in Municipal Buildings.

| Once again, the Sanford Springvale Art Association is raising money by selling raffle tickets for chairs painted by members of the association to further the Youth Education Fund. Chairs will be displayed in area businesses and raffle tickets will be sold during Summah Daze festivities held in August. Winning tickets will be drawn at the end of Summah Daze. |

| Award winning artist, Hilary Zayed, living in Sanford, Maine has joined the world of imagination through art and writing.
Her creativity and drive is a constant source of inspiration. Her art has developed through education, travel, individual and group workshops and mentors to become original, colorful and creative lending insight to an expressive depth of the subject matter. Through course work in fine arts painting classes in oils, watercolors, and acrylics; enhanced learning through workshops and classes in metalsmithing, jewelry making, paper making, and taken individualized sessions and workshops in mosaic methods to develop her skills and broaden her knowledge.
Hilary's work will be featured at the Sanford Art Gallery located on Maine Street for the month of June 2009.
